Solar Fire Concentration

Concentrates sunlight to produce low-cost solar thermal energy for industrial and developing-region applications.

About Solar Fire Concentration

Solar Fire is a cost-effective technology for concentrating sunlight for thermal needs. Our current systems produce steam in the range of 110 to 200°C and focal temperatures up to 600°C. This enables a wide range of possible applications. Our aim is to break the cost-barriers currently limiting deployment of solar thermal technologies in both industrial industries and developing regions. By developing truly cost-effective, scalable and efficient solar thermal technology it’s possible to create local wealth and significantly reduce carbon-emissions, deforestation, and air-pollution. In 2016, we have successfully piloted a model in Kenya with local entrepreneurs, in cooperation with the WEconomy program of World Vision Finland . That year, we were granted for our work by Autodesk Foundation "Design that matters", based in Silicon Valley. In 2017, we continued to pilot in Kenya and in Tanzania with the same partners and the support of Wärtsilä, one of the major company in Finland/EU. Wärtsilä became our founding sponsor. Last year, we've been also invited by Autodesk to their Pier 9 residency in San Francisco to develop our design.
