Ekotrope has embedded systems analysis developed by our founder, MIT Professor Ed Crawley, into our software product developed specifically for residential construction. This allows us to quickly compare thousands of different design options by many key performance indicators like construction cost, annual energy bill, payback, code compliance, HERS, EnergyStar, etc. to select the best design for a given project. In most cases this process allows our clients to save thousands in construction costs and/or energy bills. Right now we're focused on production and spec/trac builders and have found construction savings for many builders of more than $1,000/house.
